I'm very familiar with diabetes, and can find links on info to many other diseases. I usually read
emails daily, and reply as I get them. I can read German very well, I have difficulty writing, because of
grammar. I speak fairly fluently - I've forgotten a lot since moving out of my parent's home. We spoke
German there all the time. |

Sandy is my diabetic schnauzer
and was diagnosed in July 2001. She is doing great at 12 years
old. I hope that I can help any fellow Dane or Scandinavian if
they find themselves thrown into the journey of caring with a
diabetic pet. |

I'm willing to discuss anything but I'm certainly no expert. I have one
diabetic cat diagnosed March 2000 and he's doing fine. I have cable and check my mail several times each day
so I can answer fairly promptly though sometimes I'm a bit busy because I have a fulltime job too. |

My dog is being treated by the
Texas A&M Veterinary Clinics. His treatment has been
difficult since he has other problems and is becoming
increasingly resistant to insulin I have frequent consultation
with the clinic. He was diagnosed 1 1/2 year ago and is now 90%
blind. I get depressed and feel very helpless at times. I check
my Email several times a day and always answers. |

I have a cousin who has
diabetes for many years now, and I've always been aware of what
to do and what to give her in case of any seizures. This month
my dog was diagnosed hypoglycemia, and I tried to learn
everything I could about Diabetes on pets, but in Portugal there
isn't many information about diets for diabetic dogs. I work in
my own company, and I spend almost 24 hours in the internet, so
I return my e-mails as soon as I read them. I would like very
much to help and be helped in this matter, because I really love
my dog, and I want to do the best for him to live many, many
years by my side. |

I am looking for mails several times daily and reply
quickly. I'm not familiar with other diseases but have many
connections to other caregivers having experience with CRF and
hyperthyroidism in cats. |

I am a Dialysis nurse, also
general nurse so I know a lot about
especially the human body. But as we all know we (cats, dogs,
mice, humans) are nearly all the same.
Got dogs myself and fish, birds, mice, have had it all in the
past. Have had cats even though I am allergic to them.
I'll return emails promptly.
You know how you worry about your children. Since having all
these animals you worry as much and that is when you seek info
from anybody, and everywhere. |
